Thank you to each and every one of our Delta Zeta volunteers who truly keep the light of the flame burning! As Alfa said, “Our Sorority ideals serve ever to remind us we can help others in this game of life.” Take a minute to read this volunteer shoutout from one of our members:

“You never realize just how much one learns from observation until you catch yourself doing just that. While I find such a great amount of inspiration and motivation from my peers within Delta Zeta, I find a greater appreciation for the woman who both guides us and pushes us to be our best selves as we navigate college. For the Lambda Alpha Chapter at Arkansas Tech, this is our College Chapter Director Dr. Aubrey Holt, Lambda Alpha-Arkansas Tech. She serves as the Director for Assessment in Student Affairs as well as a professor for our leadership studies minor here at Arkansas Tech University along with participation in a variety of other organizations in the community. Dr. Holt started her tenure in Delta Zeta as an active member and eventually chapter president of Lambda Alpha, after college she worked for Delta Zeta headquarters as an Educational Leadership Consultant. After graduate school she came home to Arkansas where she served in a variety of roles in the Department of Campus Life and even oversaw Fraternity and Sorority Life. Throughout her years of service, she has always lived her Delta Zeta values.

Her biggest impact on our chapter came when she took over as our CCD. Dr. Holt treats all of her sorority women as her own, however, she is the wonderful mother to two beautiful children, in which she takes great pride. She somehow manages to juggle a million things at one time, and yet continues to show up for our chapter week after week. I admire how open and honest she is with the women of our chapter regarding time management and how she continues to strengthen her ability to do so even as an adult. Dr. Holt carries herself with such confidence and power, which I believe is what I and other members strive for. I frequently find myself catching Dr. Holt on campus, and I’m always sure it is her, by her confident walk, cool shades and fabulous outfit. She has a love for Delta Zeta that is everlasting and that shows through the work she does with our chapter. I appreciate the time and energy she volunteers, which is more time-consuming than some may know. Just how lucky am I to be under her leadership in such a wonderful season of life, the four years of college. A time in which young women are blossoming into adults. A time when a women’s guidance is so needed. A time when we all need someone we can lean on. Dr. Holt’s approach to mentorship is a more hands-off approach. While she is always there for guidance, she gives us the opportunity to make decisions and think for ourselves. However, I don’t believe she realizes just how much her advice is needed and appreciated. Under her leadership, I have personally learned better ways to lead and found greater confidence within myself and my abilities.” -Ellie Stokes, Lambda Alpha-Arkansas Tech
