Inspiring Action Impacting Lives
We each have a part to play in building community.
Delta Zeta is dedicated to creating a positive impact in the communities of which we are a part. Through our numerous philanthropic programs and service-oriented volunteering initiatives, we empower members to make positive change through their actions. Whether within our local communities or on a global scale, we strive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
As the only global women’s organization with a focus on hearing and speech, we use our philanthropy to protect hearing, raise awareness of Deaf culture and American Sign Language and provide the opportunity of speech therapy and hearing aids to people in search of those resources. Hearing and speech have been our philanthropy focus since 1954. And now, thanks to our partnerships with Starkey Hearing Foundation and American Society for Deaf Children, we can see the difference we are making here in the United States and around the world.
Alongside these ongoing endeavors, our sisters extend their impact through our global service project, SeriousFun Children's Network which provides a camp experience globally to children with serious illnesses.
Through these collective efforts, we give back to the community and live out the Sorority's core values of sisterhood, leadership and service. By working together to make a positive impact in the lives of others, we also empower ourselves and strengthen the bonds of our sisterhood.
Starkey Hearing Foundation
Everyone deserves the opportunity to communicate effectively and participate fully in society. That's why we support the Starkey Hearing Foundation, which provides hearing aids, speech therapy and other services to people throughout Africa with hearing and speech needs. Since the partnership began, Delta Zeta has raised over $7.3 million for Starkey.
American Society
For Deaf Children
Delta Zeta supports the American Society for Deaf Children (ASDC) to help ensure that all children who are deaf or hard of hearing have the opportunity to reach their full potential. ASDC provides advocacy, education and resources to families and professionals who work with deaf and hard of hearing children.
SeriousFun Children’s Network
Delta Zeta partners with SeriousFun Children's Network, a global network of 30 camps and programs that provide life-changing experiences for children with serious illnesses. Through volunteering and fundraising, Delta Zeta supports the mission of creating a world where no child faces their illness alone.
Global Ambassador Society
The Global Ambassador Society recognizes Delta Zeta members who have contributed significantly to Delta Zeta’s philanthropy or our Global Service Project. Global Ambassadors have volunteered their time on international mission trips, raised funds and spread awareness about the importance of hearing healthcare.
Heart for Hearing and Speech
Hearing and Speech is Delta Zeta’s national philanthropy. Through having a Heart for Hearing and Speech, Delta Zeta supports organizations that provide hearing aids, speech therapy and other hearing healthcare services to people in need.
