How did you discover your passion for what you do, and what opportunities have helped shape your career?

My biological sister had a neurological disease called holoprosencephaly. This experience with my sister sparked a lifelong interest in biology and neurology, which led me to study biology and ultimately find genetic counseling as a career. I think it is beautiful that now I can begin to honor her legacy by helping other patients and families.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?

I love running! I enjoy the time it gives me outdoors, a way to explore new places and time alone to think. I also believe it’s really healthy and important to set goals that aren’t career-related – and running gives me that, too. I ran the 2020 “virtual” Boston Marathon for the Boston Children’s Miles for Miracles team and raised over $10,000. I hope to run another marathon soon.
