What words of wisdom or advice do you live by?
Find what you love or what you’re passionate about, and DO IT. Life cannot and should not be defined by how much money one should make or what a typical job should look like. Delta Zeta has taught me how to be confident in who I am and find my passion and pursue it. That is how we can be happy. It is easy to support others knowing they’re following their passion and their love. It is easy to support oneself finally knowing what you are supposed to be doing in the world. You are here for your purpose. Please work to find it. It may not be easy, but it is worth it.
What advice do you have for working in a virtual/socially distant society?
It is essential to schedule time away from the screen. I get exhausted looking at a screen the majority of my day, lacking physical human interaction. But scheduling myself away from the screen has improved my mental health dramatically. I started writing snail mail letters to friends and family, encouraging them to do the same. Crocheting and crafting allows me to focus my energy into a positive creative outlet. What is nice is the end projects can then be sent to my family and friends as well! My number one advice is to schedule time away from the screen, and do something that you love, even if it is napping, sitting outside or playing with an animal. Your life may feel like it’s all behind a screen now, but it doesn’t have to be!
