How did you discover your passion for what you do?
I have always wanted a career where I could merge my love for serving others with my desire to fight for what is right. I really discovered my passion as I worked more with child victims of abuse and had the opportunity to achieve justice for them. My job is really tough but incredibly rewarding.
What words of wisdom or advice do you live by?
Words of Wisdom – Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:34.
The advice that I live by is silly but it comes from my mother. Growing up when I feared something or was anxious about an event, anything from dance competitions to the bar exam, she always asked me if whatever was causing me to worry could eat me. It always made me laugh, and of course the answer was always no. She would then say, “Okay you can do it and you will survive.” It is silly but always brings me back to remember that I can overcome anything as long as I believe in myself and my abilities. And to remember that I will survive no matter the hurdle I’m facing or end result.
