How did you discover your passion for what you do?
Truthfully, Delta Zeta. I love people; I love meeting new people and I love learning about what drives and excites people. Beyond that, I enjoy helping people. When I was a collegiate, I served as the Annual Philanthropy Chair where I was in charge of planning our major annual fundraising event. Through that position, I learned how to approach businesses and individuals to solicit donations for our cause. This position allowed me to be creative, organized, outgoing and empower my fellow sisters. Today, I meet many amazing leaders to hear why they love their communities and help them reach their retail potential.
What words of wisdom or advice do you live by?
“Success doesn’t come from what you do occasionally but what you do consistently,” and “Make an income while making an impact.”
How do you make sure you stay connected with your professional network?
I attend quite a few conferences throughout the year – some range up to 40,000 attendees! I enjoy networking at those conferences as well as keeping up with the connections I make through social platforms visit when I am in their town. Education is also important to stay connected; especially now with the media term coined “Retail Apocalypse” and knowing the market isn’t dying – we as consumers have changed our buying habits through different channels and influences. I listen to podcasts, read books and follow several thought leaders within the industry.
