How did you discover your passion for what you do?

I’ve always had a passion for the arts, especially for writing. I was crafting stories before I could physically write. I used to tell my stories to my mom, and she’d write them down. Around the age of six, I started carrying a spiral notebook with me. I wrote every chance I got. I even folded printer paper together and stapled it along the edges to give it the appearance of a “real book.” I used to sell said “books” during garage sales, at the edge of our driveway, so that’s where my entrepreneurial spirit kicked in. I have always loved to create – books, videos, artwork – and I’ve always loved to teach. It’s not at all surprising that I’m a now full-time author and coach for creative entrepreneurs!

What opportunities have helped shape your career?

Honestly, it was a bit of a lonely journey at first. I worked in a corporate setting for almost a decade before realizing that it just wasn’t for me. In 2014, I started writing again, started creating YouTube videos for other writers, and things just clicked. I began to cultivate a community very similar to the one I experienced in Delta Zeta – a supportive, ambitious group of women who were right there, cheering alongside me. Without experiencing that connection from Delta Zeta, I’m not sure I would have been able to cultivate the strong online community I have today.

What gives you confidence and empowers you to take action to create and achieve goals?

Mindset is huge for me. There is another quote I love, by Henry Ford, that says, “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t – you’re right.” I choose to see a world of unlimited possibilities. Where most see a challenge, I see an opportunity. Your perspective is everything. It’s in the way you choose to frame things. It’s a choice, and it’s that choice that empowers and inspires me to create and achieve goals.
