How did you discover your passion for what you do?

I knew I wanted to work in the nonprofit field since high school. I was lucky enough to be chosen for a leadership program through the Girl Scouts. There, I met some of my best friends, learned about myself, and most importantly was able to give back to others and mentor younger girls. I am extremely lucky that I found my passion early in life and that it translated into a wonderful career where I truly enjoy going to work every day.

What words of wisdom or advice do you live by?

Elementary as it is, working with adults and children in a case management role has taught me how important it is to treat others the way you want to be treated. Additionally, remembering humility and perspective. When someone comes to my office to be coached, it may very well be a low point in their life. How I respond and can help lighten that load is important. If the roles were reversed, how someone would treat me in that situation can make all the difference.

Which Delta Zeta shared value resonates with you most, and why?

Belonging. I feel like one of the first places I truly felt like I belonged was in my chapter. Those friendships made me who I am. When I get together with sisters we, often talk about what we learned being in Delta Zeta and how the skills we practiced as undergraduates helped our careers. I also think belonging is an integral part of my career, my home and family life, and who I am as a person. I want everyone to feel they belong when they interact with me, and it is a good value to remember and strive for.
