Delta Zeta Announces 2021-2023 National Council

(Oxford, Ohio) At the 54rd National Convention held virtually July 15-18, 2021, Delta Zeta Sorority announced the National Council. The following National Council members will hold positions in their respective offices for the 2021-2023 biennium:

  • National President: Christy Phillips-Brown, Theta Iota Chapter (Western Carolina University)
  • National Vice President: Lauren Davis Campbell, Gamma Psi Chapter (Central Michigan University)
  • National Vice President: Laura Baxter Hedenberg, Gamma Beta Chapter (University of Connecticut)
  • National Vice President: Cathy Irvin Painter, Alpha Gamma Chapter (University of Alabama)
  • National Vice President: Ani Rodriguez-Newbern, Alpha Sigma Chapter (Florida State University)
  • National Vice President: Stacey Wheeler Slaughter, Kappa Chapter (University of Washington)
  • Past National President: Diane M. Stecher, Iota Xi Chapter (University of Missouri/St. Louis)
  • National Panhellenic Conference Delegate: Phyllis Sundberg Davis, Alpha Gamma Chapter (University of Alabama)

Beginning with Delta Zeta’s Founders, women who are empowered to lead and serve are a hallmark of our Sorority. The National Council has been key to that insightful leadership for nearly 120 years. Today’s National Council continues to lead Delta Zeta relying on the foundation of the Sorority’s shared values, friendship, curiosity, generosity, community, empowerment and belonging, to fulfill our mission as a global women’s organization whose shared values truly inspire action and impact lives.

The National Council is directly responsible for policy-making and the governance of Sorority business. The Council members are dedicated volunteers who work day-to-day with the National Headquarters staff, National Committees, National Panhellenic Conference Delegates, the Delta Zeta Foundation Board, the Delta Zeta National Housing Corporation Board, Delta Zeta volunteers and Delta Zeta professional partners.
