The Heart of Delta Zeta: Celebrating the Power of Delta Zeta Volunteerism

Delta Zeta Women's Membership Organization | Delta Zeta Sorority

Our story has always been written by volunteers.

By Christi Schneeberger Mayer, Past National Officer and National Awards and Recognition Chairman

Volunteerism has always been central to Delta Zeta’s success and it will continue to shape our future. When members step forward to serve, they not only support today’s members but also invest in tomorrow’s leaders.

From our earliest days to today, the strength of our sisterhood has been built by women who choose to give their time, talents and hearts in service to others. Volunteers are not simply part of Delta Zeta — they are Delta Zeta. Their leadership, mentorship and dedication shape our member experience and ensure our organization continues to thrive for generations to come.

Volunteering is more than service — it is leadership in action. Through volunteering, members deepen their connection to Delta Zeta, strengthen relationships and create meaningful impact. Volunteers help guide chapters, mentor collegiate members, connect our alumnae, preserve our history and help celebrate achievements across the Sorority.

Every volunteer role, whether large or small, contributes to something bigger — whether supporting members as they grow into leaders, strengthening chapter operations and culture, preserving traditions while embracing innovation or advancing Delta Zeta’s mission and values.

Volunteering also enriches the membership experience itself. Many alumnae share that their volunteer work reconnects them to the joy of sisterhood, provides professional growth and fosters friendships that last a lifetime.

Our volunteers give generously, often behind the scenes: balancing careers, families and personal commitments while still showing up for Delta Zeta. They review applications, mentor members, plan events, support chapters and serve on committees — all because they believe in the power of our sisterhood.  Their contributions may not always be visible, but their impact is lasting.

To every Delta Zeta volunteer: thank you!
Your dedication strengthens our community, inspires our members and ensures that Delta Zeta continues to grow and flourish.

Whether you mentor a collegiate member, serve as a member on a committee, advise a chapter, participate in an alumnae chapter or help recognize excellence, your contribution matters.

Together, through volunteer service, we strengthen our sisterhood and continue the legacy of Delta Zeta.  Because when Delta Zetas volunteer, we lead, inspire and make a difference — together.
