Delta Zeta Recognized at the Fraternity Communications Association Centennial Celebration

(Oxford, OH) Delta Zeta Sorority’s communications work and staff were recently honored at the Fraternity Communications Association (FCA) Centennial Celebration held May 2-4, 2023 in Indianapolis, Indiana. FCA is a professional association composed of more than 70 member organizations.

Allison Lynch, Alpha Upsilon-Maine, Chief Communications and Information Officer and LAMP Managing Editor, was elected to the FCA Board of Directors. She will serve the Association as the Director of Recognition and has volunteered for FCA in the past on the Annual Conference Programming Committee.

Delta Zeta received the first-place award for writing in short form for the Truly Blog post, “Be an Ally by Crusading for Justice.” Madeline Burkhardt, Beta Xi-Auburn (AL), who was an Adult Education Coordinator and Curator at Rosa Parks Museum, authored the post to educate during Black History Month. The feature story in the Winter 2021-2022 issue of The LAMP, “Creating Her Own Field of Dreams,” was named second-place in the writing in long form category. Allison Lynch, Managing Editor, wrote the piece profiling Florence (Flo) Thomasian Snyder-Speck, Alpha Iota-Southern California, who shared the many firsts she has achieved throughout her life. Flo started as one of the first female staff members hired by the Los Angeles Dodgers when she moved to LA in 1957. The full article can be read here.

The Winter 2021-2022 issue of The LAMP of Delta Zeta was also honored with a third place in Critics Choice for Cover Design.
