Tell us about a defining moment in your career so far – how did it impact your future and what did you learn from it?
One of the most defining moments in my career came when a student told me that my daily smile was what gave them hope during a difficult season. We rarely had conversations. I just showed up each day with a positive attitude and genuinely welcomed my students. That moment taught me that leadership isn’t always about grand gestures or big moments. Sometimes it’s about consistency, presence and making people feel seen. It reinforced the importance of bringing authenticity and enthusiasm to my work every day.
What advice would you give Delta Zeta sisters pursuing leadership roles in your field?
Be yourself. Your unique perspective and authenticity are your greatest strengths, and no one else can lead exactly the way you can. Your greatest competitive edge is that no one else in the room is you.
How has being a Delta Zeta influenced your professional journey or approach to leadership?
Delta Zeta provided some of the most transferable leadership experiences I’ve had, and I still rely on those lessons every day. The communication, teamwork, organization and leadership skills I developed as a member continue to shape how I lead and serve others. My time in Delta Zeta played a significant role in who I became as a young professional, and it’ssomething I’ll always value. In fact, my Delta Zeta gavel still sits in my office as a daily reminder of where my leadership journey began.
