Which of the Delta Zeta shared values resonates with you the most? Generosity
Tell us about a defining moment in your career so far – how did it impact your future and what did you learn from it?
A defining moment in my career has been establishing myself as a general surgeon in my community. After many years of training, I am able to practice my craft. I have been able to serve this area and have established great relationships with so many patients. I hope to continue to foster that relationship as I advance my career.
What advice would you give Delta Zeta sisters pursuing leadership roles in your field?
Healthcare is so challenging, but also so very rewarding. If you find that you are passionate about medicine, follow that dream. Be patient with yourself. Foster relationships along the way. The leadership roles will come naturally to you if you are true to yourself and master your abilities. Others will take notice of your success and therefore have the confidence to follow you as a leader in your field.
How has being a Delta Zeta influenced your professional journey or approach to leadership?
Delta Zeta taught me a lot about relationships on both a personal and professional level. It is important to maintain and care for your relationships as you take leadership roles. My closest pledge sisters are also great resources as they are successful, business-oriented women who have had great success in their roles. Each of us are on a separate path, but our sisterhood has brought us together for an everlasting support system.
