Tell us about a defining moment in your career so far – how did it impact your future and what did you learn from it?
My most defining career moment was discovering what I truly wanted in a career! This discovery led me to Emergency Management, where I have the privilege of serving others every day during disaster recovery and times of uncertainty. It taught me there is never a wrong time to reevaluate your values and ensure they align with your work. Finding a career that feels meaningful has given me the confidence to pursue volunteer opportunities, continue growing, and serve my community inside and outside the workplace.
What advice would you give Delta Zeta sisters pursuing leadership roles in your field?
Stay curious and ask a lot of questions! Invest in yourself by continuously learning something new. Expanding your knowledge strengthens your technical skills while creating opportunities to build new relationships and meaningful connections. The best leaders do not pretend to have all the answers — they remain curious, seek different perspectives and never stop learning.
How has being a Delta Zeta influenced your professional journey or approach to leadership?
Being a Delta Zeta influenced my professional journey in many ways. While navigating through my early career, I found myself frequently reflecting on The Creed. Its values helped significantly shape the career professional and leader I aspireto be — courageous, giving and curious. I am grateful Delta Zeta instilled lasting principles that continue to guide my decisions and leadership style.
