Which of the Delta Zeta shared values resonates with you the most?Community
Tell us about a defining moment in your career so far – how did it impact your future and what did you learn from it?
One defining moment in my career was transitioning into my current role supporting BD Integrated Supply Chain. Up until then, much of my work focused on enterprise programs and compliance culture. Moving into ISC, an organization that represents more than half of our global workforce, required me to quickly learn a highly operational environment and partner closely with senior leaders on priorities that impact manufacturing, supply and, ultimately, patients. The experience taught me that effective communication isn’t just about creating content, it’s about understanding the business. It pushed me outside my comfort zone, strengthened my strategic thinking and shaped how I advise stakeholders.
What advice would you give Delta Zeta sisters pursuing leadership roles in your field?
My advice is to raise your hand and say yes to opportunities, even when they’re outside your job description or comfort zone. Some of the most valuable experiences in my career have come from special projects, volunteer roles and cross-functional work. Those experiences helped me build new skills, expand my network, and gain a better understanding of the business. Just as importantly, they helped me discover the kind of communicator and leader I want to be while putting my values into practice.
How has being a Delta Zeta influenced your professional journey or approach to leadership?
Being a Delta Zeta has had a lasting influence on both my leadership style and career. The organization’s values of friendship, community, generosity and empowerment reinforced something I’ve always been passionate about: using my skills to help others and make a positive impact. That mindset has stayed with me after graduation. Today, it shapes how I lead through connection, service and community. Whether I’m leading communications initiatives, mentoring others, supporting our associate resource groups, or volunteering locally, I help people feel informed, included and empowered. Delta Zeta taught me that leadership is about lifting others up in your community.
