Which of the Delta Zeta shared values resonates with you the most?Generosity
Tell us about a defining moment in your career so far – how did it impact your future and what did you learn from it?
A defining moment in my career came when I discovered that other companies in the industry were using my business development approach as a blueprint for their own efforts. I was genuinely surprised and incredibly flattered because I hadn’t realized the influence my work was having beyond my own organization. That experience reminded me that leadership isn’t determined by age or tenure—it’s earned through innovation, consistency and a willingness to challenge the status quo. Most importantly, it gave me the confidence to trust my ideas and recognize the value I bring. It also taught me to never underestimate the difference one person can make.
What advice would you give Delta Zeta sisters pursuing leadership roles in your field?
My advice to Delta Zeta sisters pursuing leadership roles in my field is to have confidence in the value they bring. Your perspective, ideas and opinions matter, and they can make a meaningful difference. Working in a traditionally male-dominated industry like construction can be intimidating at times, but I have learned that leadership is not about fitting a certain mold; it is about recognizing your strengths, having the confidence to share your perspective and knowing that you belong. Seek out mentors, embrace opportunities to grow and never underestimate the impact your contributions can have.
How has being a Delta Zeta influenced your professional journey or approach to leadership?
Being a Delta Zeta was the beginning of my leadership journey and provided my first opportunity to serve in a leadership role. As secretary, treasurer and ultimately president of my chapter, I learned the importance of responsibility, teamwork and bringing people together toward a shared goal. These experiences showed me that great leaders motivate and inspire others because success is never accomplished alone. Today, I continue to give back as an alumna advisor to the Vice President of Philanthropy, where I support and encourage current Delta Zeta leaders. These experiences shape the way I lead through connection, mentorship and empowering others to succeed.
