(Oxford, Ohio) On August 24, the Zeta Pi Chapter of Delta Zeta hosted a grand reopening ceremony for their newly renovated house. Alumnae, active members and University of Georgia students and faculty, along with Delta Zeta dignitaries, were all in attendance.

“Our house means so much to us and operating without it this past year was a true challenge,” said Katie Padmos, Chapter President. “I could not be prouder of the women of Zeta Pi for their resilience and cooperation as we navigated a new normal. It is a joy to welcome life back into the house. This building is so much more than a chapter house. It really is our home, full of energy, laughter and steadfast love. I am excited for this next chapter of Zeta Pi. I know our best days are yet to come.”

The renovation was completed over the 2024-2025 school year and was finished for member move-in before formal recruitment in August. Updates include an expanded dining room, chapter room and kitchen, along with a brand-new TV room and updated bathrooms around the house.

“We have always loved our home, fondly referred to as the DiZ. The changes make it perfect,” said Sherron Mills, College Chapter Director. “The best part was the care and attention our National Housing Corporation along with AMT, our Architectural firm led by David Matheny, used in developing the plans. They considered the needs of the chapter, taking our ideas and making them even better.”

Cathy Painter, National President, Michelle Smith, National Housing Corporation President, and Jere Morehead, University of Georgia President, assisted in cutting the pink ribbon tied around the house. Guests were then welcomed inside. In-house members showed guests the second floor, and refreshments were served.

“Being given the opportunity to live in the house has been nothing short of magic,” said Marli Jones, House Manager. “I feel closer with not only my pledge class, but my Sorority as a whole. We have movie and reality TV nights in our brand-new TV room, we get to relax outside after class, and we have wonderful meals provided by the best chefs on campus. This opportunity has truly helped shape my sorority experience into something so meaningful. I am beyond appreciative of all the hands who have helped make these four walls back into the home we love.”
