Which of the Delta Zeta shared values resonates with you the most? Generosity & Community

Tell us about a defining moment in your career so far – how did it impact your future and what did you learn from it?

Every time I care for someone from one of our community’s most vulnerable populations, I’m reminded to see the person before the circumstance. Witnessing people experience stigma instead of dignity reinforced that healthcare must always begin with compassion and human connection. Those experiences inspired me to pursue leadership, education and my Doctor of Nursing Practice so I can help prepare nurses to deliver equitable, person-centered care and create meaningful change. 

What advice would you give Delta Zeta sisters pursuing leadership roles in your field?

Find the area of nursing that brings you purpose, but don’t be afraid if that passion evolves over time. One of nursing’s greatest strengths is the endless opportunity to grow, learn and discover new ways to serve others. Stay curious, seek mentors and say yes to opportunities that challenge you — you never know where they will lead. 

How has being a Delta Zeta influenced your professional journey or approach to leadership?

Delta Zeta reinforced the value of living a life rooted in service. I’ve always believed that once we have what we need, we have a responsibility to give back to our communities. That mindset has shaped my leadership, reminding me that the greatest impact comes from lifting others up, serving with compassion and leaving every community better than we found it.
