Which of the Delta Zeta shared values resonates with you the most? Community

How did you discover your passion for what you do, and what opportunities have helped shape your career?

My Delta Zeta CCD, Ashley Webber Fox, recommended me for a job at the Harrisburg Regional Chamber and CREDC, where I first discovered my passion for philanthropy and community!

Who has been an invaluable mentor for your professional career? What did you learn from them?

The President of the Board of Directors when I first started at Harrisburg Young Professionals has been an invaluable mentor to me the past few years. She always challenged me, believed in me when I didn’t always and pushed me to be the best version of myself. I am grateful for her support, leadership and mentorship that grew into a genuine friendship. She always tells me the truth and is hard on me, but it comes from a place of love.

What words of wisdom or advice do you live by?

Don’t fall victim to impostor syndrome. You are not too young or too inexperienced. Always believe in yourself, and say yes to opportunities, even if they are scary, especially when another woman recognizes your potential and believes in you.

What is the most impactful book you have read, or podcast you have listened to, that relates to you professionally? What made it so impactful?

”The Gifts of Imperfection,” by Brené Brown, talks about embracing vulnerability and cultivating courage. I have always believed in being my authentic self in business, and believe that vulnerability fosters genuine relationships and trust. The author encourages letting go of the need to be perfect and to embrace imperfections as a source of strength. This is something I try to remind myself when anxiety builds about things not going as planned. Brené Brown’s roadmap for living a more authentic, wholehearted life has been impactful for me and is a book I recommend reading!

How do you make sure you stay connected with your professional network?

The biggest resource for staying connected with your professional network is your local Chamber of Commerce.

How have friendships helped you professionally? Is there a friend (or Delta Zeta sister) that has been behind you every step of the way on your career journey?

My Big Sister, Kendra, and New Member Educator, Michelle, have been my biggest supporters personally and professionally. I will be a bridesmaid in both of their upcoming weddings!

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?

Outside of work, I enjoy baking, making art and spending time outdoors with my Border Collie, Ellie!
