Which of the Delta Zeta shared values resonates with you the most?Empowerment is at the heart of how I lead. I find the greatest fulfillment in helping others recognize their potential, pursue ambitious goals and grow into leaders themselves.
Tell us about a defining moment in your career so far – how did it impact your future and what did you learn from it?
A defining moment in my career was launching OhioHealth’s freestanding emergency department pharmacy services model early in my professional journey. Creating a new care model required innovation, collaboration and the confidence to lead through ambiguity. Seeing our work improve patient care and later be presented at state and national meetingssparked my passion for advancing pharmacy practice beyond the walls of a single department. I learned that leadership is not about having all the answers—it is about bringing people together around a shared vision, empowering teams to solve problems and continually looking for opportunities to improve care for patients.
What advice would you give Delta Zeta sisters pursuing leadership roles in your field?
Be curious, raise your hand and do not wait until you feel completely ready. Many of the most rewarding opportunities in my career came from stepping outside my comfort zone and saying yes to experiences that stretched me professionally. Seek mentors and sponsors who will challenge and support you, but also invest in helping others along the way. Leadership is less about position and more about influence, service and relationships. When you lead with authenticity, integrity and a genuine desire to improve the lives of others, opportunities will follow.
How has being a Delta Zeta influenced your professional journey or approach to leadership?
Delta Zeta reinforced the importance of building meaningful relationships, serving others and leading with purpose — values that continue to guide me today. Through my experiences in the Zeta Kappa Chapter, I learned how strong communities of women are built through inclusion, shared goals, and supporting one another’s growth. The ideal of ”love that is ever steadfast” hasstayed with me long after graduation, reminding me to lead with compassion and genuine care for others. Whether mentoring residents, developing future leaders, or leading professional organizations, I strive to create environments where people feel valued, empowered and inspired to contribute their unique strengths.
