Which of the Delta Zeta shared values resonates with you the most?Curiosity
Tell us about a defining moment in your career so far – how did it impact your future and what did you learn from it?
My defining moment was choosing to build something new over staying a part of something big. I left a large global agency to return to DAAMedia & Marketing for the second time. It felt like a bet on myself. I traded a name everyone recognized for a blank page.
This meant I got to shape what the agency experience would become for everyone who came after me: how we work, how we treat clients and what it feels like to be here.
I learned the safe choice and the right choice usually aren’t the same. I don’t take for granted that I got to help build it.
What advice would you give Delta Zeta sisters pursuing leadership roles in your field?
Say the thing. In this field, the person who speaks up gets remembered, and too many talented women wait to be asked. Nobody is going to ask. The invitation you’re waiting for is you raising your hand.
Speak up before it’s polished. I used to sit on an idea until someone else said a rougher version and got the credit. The half-formed idea said out loud beats the perfect one you kept to yourself.
And don’t wait to be noticed. Name the role you want. They can’t promote a case you never made. Stop waiting for permission.
How has being a Delta Zeta influenced your professional journey or approach to leadership?
A sorority brings together women with different majors, backgrounds, views and motivations. You learn to understand what drives each member and move forward together despite different motivations. That turned out to be exactly what running a business is: a room of people who don’t see everything the same way, working toward something shared.
And it gave me a network of women who show up. The women who’ll celebrate your wins louder than you do. I lead differently because I learned early what it feels like to be backed by people who genuinely want you to win.
