Tell us about a defining moment in your career so far – how did it impact your future and what did you learn from it?
As a young oncology nurse, I learned how precious life is and the importance of focusing on what truly matters. Caring for patients and families during some of their most difficult moments strengthened my commitment to ensuring access to the care and resources they need throughout their cancer journey. It taught me that healthcare is about more than treating disease—it is about helping people improve their quality of life and spend meaningful time with the people they love.
What advice would you give Delta Zeta sisters pursuing leadership roles in your field?
No matter your role or title, you have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients. Leadership is not defined by a position—it is demonstrated through accountability, initiative and a commitment to continuous learning. Those qualities will help you develop the skills and confidence needed to create a lasting impact.
How has being a Delta Zeta influenced your professional journey or approach to leadership?
Being a Delta Zeta helped shape my leadership style by teaching me the importance of service, sisterhood, and leading with authenticity. Through Delta Zeta, I built meaningful relationships and a strong network while learning the value of collaboration and supporting others. The organization encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone, pursue leadership opportunities and develop confidence in my abilities. Those experiences continue to influence how I lead today by investing in people, fostering teamwork, and helping others grow and succeed.
