The purpose of the Global Ambassador Society will be to continue to engage those individuals who have supported our national philanthropy and service partners, Starkey, American Society for Deaf Children and the SeriousFun Children’s Network (this includes The Painted Turtle). Global Ambassadors will play a key role in engaging others in how they, too, can support our national partner. Giving back in inherent to these members and recognizing their commitment to philanthropy and service is important.

Starkey Hearing Mission - Honduras
Payton Chronister“I’ve never done anything as important as this mission! Hearing truly is a gift, and what Starkey gives back is incredible and life-changing. This experience was incredible! The love and dedication from the team was amazing, and it really showed in how many patients we were able to serve.”  – Payton Chronister, Rho-Denver (CO)
The Painted Turtle - California
McKenna Soards (2)I have spent eight weeks volunteering at The Painted Turtle over the last five summers and I cannot put into words how much TPT, the staff and, most importantly, the campers have changed me as a person. Many of the campers have spent months of their lives in the hospital or going to doctor’s appointments, yet you never hear them complain. Instead, they spend the week giggling, making new friends and smiling bigger than I ever thought possible. There is nothing that makes my heart soar more than hearing one of them exclaim, “I did it, McKenna!” after trying something new, or “This is the best week ever!”. My weeks spent at camp are hands down the best weeks of my life. I am a much more grateful and appreciative person because of the campers I have been blessed to work with.” – McKenna Soards, Zeta Kappa-Ohio Northern
Starkey Hearing Mission - Dominican Republic
Jordan BarattaThe people of the Dominican Republic truly reminded me of what it means to “give graciously” of what is ours because, although I was there volunteering my time, the patients I served gave me so much more. Patients and their family members gave me their stories to bring home and share, they gave me moments of laughter and at times brought me to tears (of joy), and most importantly, they gave me the perfect example and a permanent reminder of how to pour your love into those around you. Although I only spent a short amount of time with these patients, I will forever cherish these people, their stories and the memories we share.” – Jordan Baratta, Beta Delta-South Carolina
