The Delta Zeta Foundation -

The Delta Zeta Foundation

The Delta Zeta Foundation is a non-profit, tax exempt 501(c)3 organization which exists to make possible gifts and support for scholarships, leadership, philanthropy and education. It exists through the generous support of Delta Zeta members and friends.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Delta Zeta Foundation is to advance the Sorority's educational and philanthropic purposes through the development of financial and human resources in support of the Sorority's leadership, scholarship, philanthropic and educational programs.

A Legacy That Lasts

Support of the Delta Zeta National Historical Museum through the Foundation makes it possible to bring together the important documents, significant material and special mementos that are Delta Zeta's rich heritage. Housed in a renovated Victorian house with a spacious new addition in Oxford, Ohio, it is the home and center of activity for Delta Zeta National Headquarters, the Foundation and the Museum.

A Vision of the Future

The Foundation supports leadership development and educational programs enabling members to become leaders on their campuses and communities.

Scholarship Opportunities

Each year the Delta Zeta Foundation awards thousands of dollars in scholarships and loans to deserving Delta Zetas to help with their education and career goals.

A Way to Give Back

The Foundation contributes to its educational mission by funding training programs, convention workshops, qualified Sorority programs and personnel and leadership schools, all to enhance opportunities for leadership development and personal growth for Delta Zeta members.

For more information regarding contributions, and for a printable version of our contribution form, go to Donation Forms.  Or, contact the Foundation Office at National Headquarters.

What the Foundation Can Fund

  • The mission of the Foundation is to support the educational, leadership, scholastic and philanthropic programs of the Sorority.

  • This means that 76% of all Sorority programs are eligible for funding by the Foundation.

  • Currently the Foundation is able to support about 21% of fundable Sorority programs.

  • Why isn't it more?  Because when you designate your donation for a specific area, such as a particular philanthropy or scholarship, or a community project, the money MUST be used for that purpose only.

  • The Foundation would like to increase its support of Sorority programs in the next biennium to at least 50%.  We can do that if you make your donations to the General Fund instead of designating a specific program.

  • We WANT to give back, but have to give FIRST.

The Levels of Giving

The Delta Zeta Foundation has many levels of giving. Through the Annual Fund, our annual campaign, your contribution each and every year personifies your lifetime commitment to Delta Zeta. Each contribution, no matter what the size, makes a difference. From the Oxford Society to the Friendship Circle, every level is important as we work to implement programs which fulfill our mission.

The Guy Potter Benton Society
Honoring the influence of Dr. Guy Potter Benton, President of Miami University when Delta Zeta was founded, announcement was made at the 2004 National Convention of the new Guy Potter Benton Society.  The Society is a membership club recognizing alumnae and friends who make an annual unrestricted Foundation gift of $1,000 or more, supporting Delta Zeta's mission at the highest level.  Charter memberships were being accepted through the 2006 Convention.  Society members will be recognized in The LAMP and at Conventions, and receive invitations to special events as well as a periodic "Insider's Report" about how their Foundation gifts are being used.

The Oxford Society - Planned Gifts
The Oxford Society has been established to honor and recognize those alumnae and friends of Delta Zeta who have made provisions in their estate plans for future generations of student members through planned gifts via will bequests, life insurance, trusts, gifts of appreciated assets, etc.  To date, 59 alumnae and friends have become members of this special group.

Gifts-in-Kind

Gifts of materials and services are highly sought and welcomed by the Trustees of the Delta Zeta Foundation. A special committee will consider all gift-in-kind proposals.

The 1902 Loyalty Circle

The 1902 Loyalty Circle is an undergraduate giving society made up of collegiate members. The program is designed to increase collegiate awareness of the Foundation and expand the number of young donors. For additional information, view the promotional video here.
