Education
“Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it.” ~ Marian Wright Edelman
The Delta Zeta experience goes beyond the classroom – with programs and speakers that expand our minds, challenge our values, and encourage self-fulfillment.
- GreekLifeEdu: Web-based tool that challenges members’ expectations around alcohol, sexual assault and hazing while enabling them to make healthier and safer decisions.
- MentalHealthEdu: Web-based tool that provides alumnae volunteers with the knowledge they need to identify and refer distressed students to appropriate campus resources.
- Tell Me Something I Don’t Know: In this Emmy Award winning documentary by Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity and Watt Imagination, Delta Zetas will be presented with first-hand accounts of an event in 1997 that has forever changed a family, individual members, a chapter and a fraternity.
- Tapping Into Your True Potential: This personal growth and development program addresses the most critical individual concerns of our collegians. It is the formula for better grades, healthier relationships, less stress, less self-criticism, and an overall happier life. This program outlines a practical method to discard self-criticism and begin to accomplish your goals in an easier and more confident manner.
- Academic planners for new members: These planners provide study tips and tools and most all provide an easy-to-use format for staying organized and managing the demands of college.
- Educational space within chapter houses: The I.R.S. allows foundations like Delta Zeta’s to accept donations for dedicated educational spaces within chapter houses, including funds to build the technological/educational infrastructure of those dedicated spaces.
- Standards Program Development: The Florence Hood Miner Standards Programming Fund provides grants to the Sorority for the enrichment of standards programs and for seed money to develop new standards programs for collegians.
- Distinguished speakers and lecturers: The Harper Endowed Lecture Fund, established by Carol Sharpe Harper, Beta Gamma, provides fund for educational speakers/lecturers to Delta Zeta Sorority’s national leadership conferences and conventions to stimulate discussion and provide learning opportunities beyond the lecture itself.
